Northwest Austin Optometrist_Dr. Joel Trinidad

Dr. Joel Trinidad is originally from a small town in Wisconsin and grew up in southwest Texas. He began his career studies by obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from the Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi. He then received a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, TX in 2018. Dr. Trinidad’s areas of specialty within optometry are scleral contact lens fittings, dry eye therapy, and ocular disease management.

Dr. Trinidad received extensive training in ocular disease management at his clinical rotation at the William V. Chappell Jr. Multispecialty Veteran’s Affair Clinic located in Daytona Beach, Florida. He also completed clinical training¬† at the Eye Centers of South Florida, a private practice ophthalmology clinic which covered a wide range of services including specialty contact lens fittings, outpatient oculoplastic surgeries, and dry eye disease management.

In his free time, Dr. Trinidad enjoys being active outdoors with his yellow lab Toby. You can find the two either biking, running, or paddle boarding down Lady Bird Lake. Dr. Trinidad also enjoys regularly attending large optometric conferences throughout the country to stay up to date with the latest advancements in ophthalmic science and technology to better serve his patients and offer innovative solutions for complex cases.
